Behaviour

Students are encouraged to celebrate success. Students have clearly stated that they like to receive praise in the form of ‘nudge vouchers’. ‘Nudge Vouchers’ are given when students demonstrate positive social interactions or behaviour for learning. We often use the term going ‘above and beyond’ when the voucher is given to them. These are recorded on arbor as ‘Positive Points’. Each nudge voucher is collected and entered into a half termly draw. Nudge Vouchers are not taken from students as a sanction; they have earned them, and they are be included in the draw.

‘Negative Points’ will be recorded on arbor when students when behaviour disrupts their own learning, the learning of others or when the communication and social interaction is inappropriate. Work not completed in these times, will be sent home to be completed.

Students are given time to reset to manage their emotional regulation and learning. We recognise that there will be times that this is particularly difficult, and we will work with you to mitigate the impact on the young person, their peers and the environment. The Wreake Valley Academy Behaviour Policy applies to the Bradgate Inclusion Centre.

Behaviour Policy

Some behaviours are considered ‘red line’ behaviours, for example, unsafe behaviour (behaviour that may cause harm or damage) or bullying. If this occurs students and parents will have a meeting with the Head of Centre to discuss how to ensure the placement remains appropriate. The Bradgate Inclusion Centre follows the Bradgate Education Partnership Exclusion Policy
